Become a Support Runner

To increase the number of people aware of the North 2 South Charity Challenge I ask you to sign up as a support runner. If you are afraid of becoming a support runner because of the massive distances that is fine you can run a part leg. You could even gather a bunch of friends to run the distance like a relay. I hope to have a handful of support runners for each of the 31 legs because the more people aware of the challenge the more we can raise for St John.

Once you have registered your interest you will be emailed and confirmation of your participation can be made. You will then be set up with your own Fundraise Online page were you can gather sponsorship from your friends, family and colleagues.

Follow the link below to get further information about joining the challenge as a support runner.

Become a Sponsor of The Challenge

To turn my dream into a reality it would be helpful to have some sponsorship for things such as apparel, footwear, travel, food and a company with medical professionals that specialise in physiotherapy, podiatry and nutrition. Having sponsors in these areas will greatly cut the costs for myself to complete The Challenge.

I will be doing my best to find sponsors in all these areas and others but if you are in any of these fields, know someone in these fields or have any ideas on other prospective sponsors please contact me.

Sponsorship levels range from Major/Platinum Sponsorship down to Bronze sponsorship or simple Product Sponsorship. The benefits differ depending on the level of sponsorship you are providing. A prospectus outlining the benefits for each level of sponsorship and the contribution needed to gain this level of sponsorship can be provided to you upon request so please contact me and show your support for a great cause.

Offers of Accommodation

On any given day of The Challenge there will be myself and a 4 person strong support crew that will be residing in a town near you. To help cut the costs of The Challenge I hope to have offers of accommodation for all our stop overs throughout the 35 day journey. Although I have had many offers already, there are still areas we are yet to pick up accommodation.

If you have a warm heart, a spare room and think you could accommodate for the full crew or a part of The Running North 2 South Charity Challenge crew then I would love to hear from you.

We will be carrying all the gear we need to look after ourselves for the night so all we would be asking for would be a place to rest our heads and of course we would not turn down a meal if it was offered to us.
To see where we will be stopping each day you can simply view The Challenge Legs.

If this sounds like you please leave me a brief message and I will email you as soon as possible. I look forward to hearing from you.

Become a part of the Support Crew

A support crew will be the ones that make sure The Challenge runs smoothly from day to day. On each day of The Challenge I hope to have two vehicles of atleast two crew members in each.

By having two support vehicles this will allow a rotation system to be employed. Basically the rotation system will mean you will be doing shifts if you will of approx 2 Hours. One vehicle will be constantly tending to the needs of the runners and the other vehicle can be taking a break from the duties of being a support crew. Some basic duties may be asked of you such as refuelling or picking up any emergency supplies needed for the follow part leg.

As part of the support crew you will basically be following the runners from checkpoint to checkpoint providing rations, refreshments and basic support such as first aid, a change of clothes when required or just simply giving moral support. At each checkpoint the support crews will come together and set up rations and refreshments for the incoming runners, brief joining runners and hopefully entertain the crowds of supporters that you have gathered along the way.

If you can committ to becoming a support crew member for even one leg of The Challenge I would love to hear from you because without the support crew The Challenge would be exactly that. A huge challenge.

If you want to become part of the support crew please follow the Contact Me link below Leaving a brief message on which leg you may be available for and I will email you as soon as possible with further information you require. I look forward to hearing from you.

Donate Meals or Prepared Food

My support crew and I will be on the road for approximately 8 hours a day for more than 35 days. If you are looking for other ways to support The challenge we welcome donations of prepared meals or offers of meals for the support crew and I.

By donating a meal or prepared food you will be greatly reducing the amount of stress put on the support crew and will make sure we are all eating correctly and puting 100% into The Challenge.

If you are not comfortable preparing something suitable for me as I will have a different dietary needs that is fine. The support crew all need to eat and im sure preparing a meal at the end of the day will be the last thing they will want to do so we appreciate anything you can offer. If you would like some guidance in what to prepare please Contact Me by following the link below. Leave me a brief message and I will email you back as soon as possible.

Your prepared meals will be accepted at your local St John Station and we will pick these meals up on our way through. Alternatively prepared meals can be given directly to us on the road at our scheduled stops at the checkpoints. To find out where the schedules checkpoints will be for the Leg passing through your town by viewing the Challenge Legs. To keep an eye on our where about’s and to estimate the time we will be stopping at the next checkpoint you can view the Live Feed Here.

Checkpoint Moral Support

Reaching my fundraising goal will be motivation enough but we could all use your moral support as extra motivation.

The Challenge legs will be broken up with three compulsory stops or checkpoints where we will be stopping briefly to re fuel and rehydrate. The checkpoints will also be a great place for give your words of support.

To find out where the schedules checkpoints will be for the Leg passing through your town by viewing the Challenge Legs.

Local St John area committee’s will also be using the checkpoints as an organised support area where you can make donations to the local St John which will benefit your local community as well as counting towards the overall money raised as part of The Running North 2 South Charity Challenge.

I will be using an application called Instamapper to give you to the minute Live Feed. On the Live Feed page there will be an automatically updated map that will give you a live update of my where abouts approximately every 5 mins using GPS. This will make sure you do not miss us coming through a town near you.

I look forward to seeing a large number of you each day and can’t wait to hear your words of support.
